The first of four solar hot air systems is now in place at Sanborn Regional High School, where Shift Energy is installing over 7,800sf of Lubi™ Solar systems at the site.

The first two walls will connect to large heat recovery units on the roof, with each wall supplying over 12,000cfm of solar heated fresh air for the school’s ventilation.

The first wall (2,500sf) was completed at the end of January, and the dampers were opened to allow solar heat into the building for the first time in the last week.

When on site Monday morning, we measured 71F coming from the wall at 9.45am, on a sunny but frosty cold morning 31 degree morning where the sun was just beginning to heat things up.

Not bad for 12,500cfm of freezing cold air!
