Bentley University, Waltham MA

This 3,000sf solar hot air system uses transpired metal panel technology, and was installed at the Dana Athletic Center at Bentley University in Waltham, MA as part of a major HVAC upgrade.

151 feet in length and 19’ in height, the project involved the design and construction of a SolarWall™ system from Conserval Engineering to serve fresh air demands for the athletic center with preheated solar ventilation. The operating air flows vary from a minimum 6,300cfm (cubic feet per minute) up to 15,000cfm when fully occupied. The completed project allows up to 30,000cfm of fresh air, and delivers minimum fresh air demands in the cold of winter at temperatures upward of 75 degrees on sunny below freezing days.
