FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Shift Energy is pleased to announce receiving award for a Design/Build solar hot water system for the County of Merrimack, for the County Corrections Facility in Boscawen, NH. The system will be one of, if not the largest active solar hot water system in NH.

After closely metering the jail hot water consumption via data-logging, it was determined that the jail consumes between 5,500 and 7,000 gallons of hot water daily. With up to 220 inmates, the facility has a very steady year round demand with laundry, kitchen, showering and general domestic hot water loads.

Shift Energy’s project scope is to design and construct a 64 collector ground mounted solar hot water system, with over 2,000 gallons of storage capacity in addition to a commercial pump station and live 24 hr web based performance and energy monitoring.

The project which is nearing design completion, will commence construction when the snow melts this spring.
